A soft early morning spring rain gently lifts the sweet bouquet of desert flowers and mesquite into the air as if it is meant to be savored as part of the breakfast being served outside the Alchemy restaurant at the Copperwynd Resort. Nestled into the mountains overlooking the Town, the view stretches across the valley to Red Mountain, and sweeps to the majestic Four Peaks Mountain Range in the far distance. The warmth of my morning coffee is savored in unison with the sun breaking through the clouds. Dappled patches of light play tag on the desert floor as the cloud cover breaks releasing steaks of light to a slumbering land.
After breakfast, a quick drive through rolling hills to Fountain Park gathers glimpses of beautiful homes tucked into the ravines like jewels on the edge of a crown. Arriving at our destination we stroll out to the path around Fountain Lake which slowly meanders through the green grasses of the park affording an ever changing panorama of the homes, business, and beauty that makes Fountain Hills so special. The Fountain adds a bold accent to the landscape just as a masterful artist's stroke on a painting, and for a few minutes the view is shrouded by a veil of water.
The afternoon is laced with the lingering smells from the morning rain and spots of light moisture on the grass of the fairway at Sun Ridge. A warm afternoon playing golf in one of the many beautiful courses in Town, adds a richness of peace and relaxation found only at special places and during rare moments.
An evening breeze dances across the outside dinning area at Desert Canyon's steak house. The smell of prime cuts and warm bread mixes with the gentle wind and tempts all of the senses as we prepare to eat. As the night embraces the Town, the stars wink at each other as they watch another perfect day in a perfect place slowly come to a perfect end in Fountain Hills.
